From the hysteria of the spread of communism, the blacklists, a list of names of suspected communists, were made which ruined people lives by getting them fired and not hired. What do you think of that?!
Just because people freaked out doesn't mean it wasn't a happy time. Don't be a party pooper, the reds are not going to attack us. We are too powerful.... if they even tried, WE WOULD POUND THEM!!! That is the word from the bird.
People being freaked out caused people's lives to be ruined and Hollywood starts to be monitored- which is not okay. But your right, the reds probably wouldn't attack us, but there are other things that were not happy. Like poverty; one out of every 5 americans lived in poverty. Im gonna kill you. People had plenty of loose change, the economy was boss! There were plenty of jobs around. And just look at those cars that the economy has produced. Hot Rods Baby! it is so fun burning rubber and pulling wheelies.
Your forgetting about the poor, like most people did. The economy was booming, but there are still poor people. DON'T FORGET! Also, even though women had more opportunities, they still have limited job choices outside the house. They could really only be a nurse, teacher, or office worker. I'm sure they didn't like that too much. BTW: u did not kill me! try again....
The poor will stay poor, that is life, it is too hard to change the fact that they cant make a living for themselves. And women had plenty to worry about. They were the ones who started families, ever heard of the baby-boom??? Those cats were the ones who wanted to move to the suburbs and leave the city-goers behind.
As the baby boom did help the economy, it was hard on public schools when they went to school, it was hard for them to find jobs when they needed to, and now they are retiring so they need health care and they are beginning to draw social security! NOT GOOD! and for the suburbs- that's a whole different argument... well... the poor and minorities were not able to move to the suburbs because they were not accepted. Also, many african americans and latinos could not afford the homes in the suburbs. the suburbs also hurt the cities because so many people left the cities so there were less people paying taxes in the cities for services. Please fracture me with your comeback! GET BENT!
The baby boom helped with increasing America's population and helped in the work force. And for the suburbs, at least the whites got to live their dream! The poor and minorities get the city and move to the suburbs later. Also, the cities can and did survive. But lets talk about TVs, they were amazing! There were so many new popular shows for all ages- like I Love Lucy, Father Knows best, and Mickey Mouse Club House! The TVs also filled everyone in on the new must haves! They were great!

Deal with it, TV is better than the flicks. But another happy thing is that mexican immigration went up! How could that be bad?! It is increasing our population just like the baby boom did!
The Mexicans were hurt in immigrating, which is bad! Since many immigrated illegally, the mexicans were taken advantage of and since they feared being sent back to Mexico, they worked longer hours with lower pay. That is just not fair, but I got to go- lets finish this conversation up sometime. See you later alligator!
